Need Mini Storage in Needles, CA cuz You Are Spring Cleaning?

Spring cleaning... where do I start? A good place to start is the area that is bothering you the most. For me, it is the garage!
Too much clutter in your garage? Can't get your car in your garage
anymore? Start by taking everything out to the driveway. I know it sounds like a lot of work but do it! As you take things out, make piles. Keep storage totes handy to fill. They are a great way to hold everything and keep it all dry. Separate your items into the following piles:
- Discard - things that are broken and trash that didn't make it to the correct receptacle. Get those trash bags ready! There is probably a lot for this pile!
- Donate - things that are still in good shape. There are a lot of needy charities out there...especially in this economy.
- Garage Sale - Find things you will never use again? Feel like making some money? Garage sales are a great way to get rid of unwanted "stuff". And remember, your junk could be another person's treasure!
- Save - things you use regularly. Gardening tools rakes, shovels, etc. should be placed near the side door leading to the yard. Attach them to the walls, keeping them off of the floor. Particle-board shelving and common peg board and hooks are a helpful way to keep the tools organized. Old jars are a great way to store your screws, nails and other small items. Use a screw or two to attach the top of the jar to the underside of a shelf. Fill the jar with whatever, and screw the jar onto its top.
- Chemicals - These should be stored in a locked cabinet (out of the reach of little ones and animals). Power tools should also be kept in a locked cabinet, if possible.
- Seasonal - Now this is the stuff that presents the challenge! You need it but don't use it very often..... summer equipment, a boat or PWC, holiday decorations, sporting goods, etc. Why not rent a storage unit? Store the items that you need but don't have room for any more!
Now that the garage is all cleaned out, look to make sure the smoke detectors are in working order. Check the batteries and replace them, if needed.
Now comes the "feel good" part. Empty the trash pile by filling the trash bags. Load the car up with the charitable items and make a delivery. Make a sign and have a garage sale the next day. Hang the tools up on the walls. And finally, research a storage company and go rent a unit! The money from the garage sale can pay for the storage unit!
