A POSSIBLE DANGER TO BOATERS

I saw this article today in the Needles Desert Star and thought all of our tenants at All Seasons Storage should be aware of this possible danger.
NEEDLES - The Colorado River basin's summer thunderstorm seasons is in the air. Those storms can be sudden and violent and their common characteristics include high winds, lightning and heavy rain that present significant danger for boaters.
When caught by a storm, the first thing a boater should do is to put on a life jacket and make sure that each passenger does the same. Then the boater should look for a protected location such as a cove or small bay in which to ride out the storm.
What a boater shouldn't do is try to out-run a storm back to the marina.
Boaters also need to watch for floating debris that might damage their boat or cause an accident.
The Nevada Wildlife Department encourages people who frequent the Colorado River to carry a marine band radio and a cellular telephone. the National Park Service monitors two-way radios 24 hours a day on channels 16 and 22A.
Please be safe and always check the weather forecast before
leaving home and keep an "eye to the sky" The sky will tell the weather story for you.
