Vessel Assist on the Colorado River in Needles!

My family and I have boated on the Colorado River for over forty years and I learned something new today about "The River".  When I was young, the Coast Guard patrolled the waterways of the Colorado River and gave assistance to boaters who were stranded.  Due to budget costs in the early 1990's, the Coast Guard stopped patrolling the River.  Since that time, I have onlyboat tow noticed boaters helping each other with towing broken down boats and putting out fires on boats, etc.  I never knew there was a program called "Vessel Assist" and it is located in Needles, Lake Havasu and Lake Mohave!

Vessel Assist is a nationwide program (http://www.boatus.com /vesselassist) sponsored by BoatU.S. and it appears to be like the "AAA" of the waterways!  Vessel Assist will

  • Provide towing of your boat and or trailer
  • Assist with battery jumpstarts
  • Provide fuel delivery

By applying for Vessel Assist, you become a member of BoatU.S. and can also receive the following benefits:

  • Marine Insurance
  • Boat Financing
  • BoatU.S. Classified Ads
  • Boat Show Ticket Discounts
  • Theft protection for your boat and equipment
  • Life Jacket Loaner Program
  • Boat Recall Alert Registry

Metropolitan Marine Solutions is the Vessel Assist located in Needles, CA.  Captain Gregory Ewing is the owner of Metropolitan Marine Solutions.  He can be reached at 866-SAFE-TOW.

If you use boat storage in Needles (hopefully at All Seasons boat tow 1 resized 600Storage), Vessel Assist my be just for you!  Probably ninety percent of the time, you will be using your boat either on the River around Needles or at Lake Havasu or Lake Mohave.  Since we all have cell phones now, this business makes great sense!  Something to think about....

Just out of interest sake, would you consider using these services?  Let me know...thumbs up or down.  Thanks!
