NEEDLES CA INDOOR BOAT STORAGE-CRACKED VALVE STEMS

Needles Ca indoor boat storage does not stop the problem with dry cracked rubber valve stems.
Today we pulled a boat out of its' individual unit and one of the trailer tires was flat. We noticed the valve stem was cracked (the cause of the flat tire) and after checking all of the tires, we noticed that they all had cracked stems.
Consumer Reports has been issuing warnings on faulty tire valve stems made in China for years. Cracks in valve stems can cause tires to lose air quickly, and such air loss at highway speeds can result in tire failure and a loss-of-control-crash.
Every time we pull a tenant's boat, we check the air pressure of the tires and often times, we discover many cracked valve stems. We recommend that you replace your rubber valve stems with metal valve stems, either as they go bad or the next time you put new tires on your trailer. The metal valve stems may cost a little more but they will last almost as long as your wheels.
Our local "Big O Tires" dealer here in Needles charges $49.95 for 4 metal valve stems installed. If you buy 4 new tires add $20.00 more to the purchase price if you request metal valve stems.
